Your first lesson at Splash Buddies
Here's everything you need to know before your first swim with us, from what to wear to where to go when you arrive.
We can't wait to meet you in the water!

Ahoy! I'm so excited
you're joining us!
Come in a little bit early
Arrive 10 minutes early so you and your buddy can settle in before the lesson starts. It gives everyone time to find their feet (and their swim cap!).
Little tip for the first visit
Give yourself a few extra minutes to have a look around. It helps kids feel comfortable before they hop in the water.

Space to get ready, whatever your family looks like
Our change rooms are set up to make getting ready easy for everyone.
Swim cap on, goggles optional
A quick rundown of what to pack so you're ready to jump in.
Swim caps
Required for all buddies. Ours are soft Lycra, not stiff plastic. Bring your own or grab one from us on your first lesson.
Goggles
Not recommended under 3. Optional for 3 to 4 year olds. From then on, up to the swimmer.
Towel & togs
The usual swim essentials. A rashie is a good idea for parents in the water too.
A little courage
And a smile. The rest we'll handle with you.
About our swim caps
Caps don't keep hair dry, but they keep the pool clean and hair out of kids' faces while they're in and out of the water.

Nappies for the Infant Program
Children aged 6 months to toilet-trained wear a Happy Nappy, which is a reusable swim nappy.
If your buddy is 6 months to 3 years, you're in too
A parent or guardian joins every Infant Program lesson in the pool, so come prepared to get wet.
From 3 years and up
Buddies swim independently with their teacher. You can relax poolside and watch the magic happen.
